First class service. Excellent hosts.

Excellent room and amenities. Location brilliant.

Jane and Richard are fantastic hosts, very helpful and friendly. The room was spotless and very comfortable. You’re just a stone’s throw from the seafront and amenities. We have stayed there several times and seems to get better and better.

Roll on next June! Pat & Dave from Birmingham.

Yarmouth stay

At first greeted very warm and friendly. The rooms were decorated to a very high standard and had everything you could ask for. Very comfy bed and a cosy feel to the room. A very nice cooked breakfast in the morning with toast, cereals, tea, etc! A very nice touch during breakfast was that June made an announcement each morning of what events were going on that day and what to do, nice! Would for sure come back again, thanks a for a very clean and comfortable stay.

So glad I booked this guest house!

I booked at The Merivon relying on the Trip Advisor reviews and was not disappointed. Jane and Richard are excellent hosts and each ferried me from the rail station which was above expectation. The guesthouse has 5 rooms and I had a double at the rear of the building. It is situated equidistant from the seafront and town and close to restaurants and theatres, about 5 minutes walk either way. I rarely am up in time for breakfast, but did actually manage it twice and was pleased with the English menu offered – all cooked fresh when ordered. Breakfast served in a pleasant room at the front of the house. I would recommend this guesthouse to anyone wanting great accommodation in Yarmouth.

Everything and more!!!!!!!!!!

Late booking but what a brilliant find, first class Guest House less than 5 mins away from beach, shops and other amenities. Food was deliciously cooked by Richard, and his wife Jane was the perfect hostess. Bedroom was very clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and supplied with every available tea bag invented! Bonus for us was this is an Adult only guesthouse. So peaceful and relaxing, Would definitley recommend and cannot wait to rebook another stay.

A Little Gem

Was fortunate enough to find this GEM of a guesthouse. Had a wonderful stay. Thank you so much, Jane, for making our stay home from home. This is a guesthouse that goes ‘the extra mile’ and we will definitely be returning.

The best B&B experience we’ve ever had

It’s always a good sign that the owner of a place replies to your inquiries quickly. We’ve contacted several in Great Yarmouth and only Jane replied immediately. Of course she got our business. And we were very thankful we chose her place. The Merivon is so centrally located. But, most importantly, she and her husband were very friendly and go out of their way to help guests and make them feel at home. Throughout our stay we felt very much at home. Our room was spotlessly clean and had everything a guest would need and more. They haven’t cut corners! This is the best B&B experience we’ve had in the UK (we've stayed in at least 4). We can only highly recommend it. 10 Stars!!!

Great… Merivon... Yarmouth...

Just like to say: Thanks Jane and Richard for making us welcome in this lovely guesthouse. Jane has got a lovely establishment. Really homely, exceptionally clean, very comfortable beds, and the breakfast was excellent. We’ve stayed in lots of hotels and guesthouses, but this was definitely the best one ever, you will find many little extras with this stay. We will be returning.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent.

Friendly, clean, and comfortable

Stopped over on a business trip, and was very surprised by the professionalism of the lady that runs this place. She was friendly and welcoming.
Good attention to detail and a friendly, warm environment.
I felt very relaxed and got a good night’s sleep with a nice breakfast in the morning.
I will be staying here again if I come back.

The Proprietors are brilliant!

The room was comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The proprietors were friendly, knowledgeable about everything from buses to restaurants, as well as the most personable people willing to help with ANYTHING. The breakfasts were hot, adapted to our own American tastes and DELICIOUS! We miss Jane and Richard already, and we’ve only been home for 1 day!

Just a note, this is a FABULOUS Victorian home… very VERTICAL, be ready for the stairs.

A lovely seaside stay

My boyfriend and I came up to Great Yarmouth from London to give ourselves a bit of seaside air and a break from the city. The Merivon Guesthouse is perfectly located near to the sea, the restaurants and bars, and all the fun attractions of Great Yarmouth. The bedroom was clean and comfortable, and did a great job utilizing the space. The breakfast served daily was excellent, with the option for a full breakfast, cereals and toast, or fresh berries and yoghurt. Jane was super helpful with coupons for the local attractions and tips on where to go, and Richard even gave us a lift to the station on the last day which was an unexpected and more than welcome treat after three days of sightseeing. We would definitely recommend!

An outstanding guesthouse

This is the second time we’ve stayed at The Merivon. We were so impressed last year we had to come back. We stayed in a different room this year and were equally as impressed. The room was nicely decorated, with a superking-sized bed which was very comfortable and so were the pillows. There were lots of coat hangers which was great. The shower was lovely too and very clean. Breakfast was very tasty and not greasy – nice fresh coffee and a large selection of cereals, fruit, yogurt, jams, and the cooked breakfast was very nice. The guesthouse is tastefully decorated and being adults-only it’s really quiet, ideally located near to the town and the seafront. Jane is a lovely host, stopping to chat and ask about your day. Nothing is too much for them – Richard gave us a lift to the station on the last day which was much appreciated. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Great Yarmouth. You won’t be disappointed! We’re going to stay here again next year and already booked before we left as, quite understandably, this guesthouse gets booked up quickly. This guesthouse should be number one on the listings for Great Yarmouth. See you next year!

Great location!

Just returned from our first visit to this lovely guesthouse. It was just perfect for a couple of days having fun and so near everything! Jane, our lovely host, made us feel so welcome and I appreciated all her little touches – robes, bottled water, and fruit in our room, plus the usual goodies of biscuits, tea, and coffee. Super breakfast too! Will definitely return!
